Meet Chelsea Mayne: Your Asheville Photographer

Born in North Carolina and raised in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, I’m proud to call Asheville home—not just where I live, but where I create. I graduated from A.C. Reynolds High School, raised my family here, and built my business in the same city that shaped me. My sweet husband and I have a blended family with three amazing children, and family has always been the heartbeat of my life and work. The natural beauty and creative spirit of Asheville continue to inspire me daily, fueling my passion for meaningful, artful photography.

Art has always been in my bones. From painting and drawing to dancing, creativity has been a constant in my life. But it was photography—and later, makeup artistry—that truly captured my heart. During my senior year of high school, I chose photography as my senior project and trained under a local photographer. We explored film photography through landscapes, portraits, and street scenes, and I was immediately hooked. After graduation, I transitioned from film to digital, but photography remained a passion rather than a profession.

As I became a mother, life shifted and I chose to set the camera down (let’s be real—juggling a DSLR and a diaper bag is no small feat). I focused on building my makeup business, where one of my specialties was makeup for photoshoots. Still, the creative pull of photography never left. Years later, I picked up the camera again, and this time, something changed. I found a deep love for portraits—and I haven’t looked back since.
